Couple facing child abuse charges after 3-month-old hospitalized with broken bones and bruises, claiming that their 3-year-old
child had fallen on the 3-month-old multiple times. The child’s injuries were multiple and in various stages of healing.
So isn’t lack of supervision to protect the infant from the toddler still child abuse and child neglect? Seems like it is, to me. Why do the parents think that’s an excuse or even an explanation?

I believe you’re right, at the very least neglect of BOTH children. I’m curious to see, though, whether DHS was involved with this family prior to this current episode–my money lies on the fact that they were, as I so commonly see in these cases.
